There are so many productivity hacks out there, but what makes a difference?
Well, one thing I know for sure, is that most of us are stuck in our own heads (myself included).
We’re overthinking if we’re doing the right things, if there are actions to take that are better than others, if there’s a “secret formula” out there that productive people know that we don’t.
So, we overthink things and never take action.
This is the biggest benefit I’ve found to incorporating the Pomodoro Technique: the fact that you need to set the timer and just get started.
If you don’t know what the Pomodoro Technique is, it’s the idea that you set the timer for a certain amount of time, and work until the timer goes off. Then, you take a set time for a break, then you do it all over again.
The timer is starting and you only have a set amount of time until the end, so you must start.
It forces you to stop thinking about a project and to start diving in.
The second biggest benefit is that it gives you an end to your work. Instead of drudging through something for hours, there’s and end to your work segment.
Those are my favorite reasons for using this technique if it’s something you’ve been meaning to include in your life. Set a timer and start!
